Mother’s Day: The Perfect Time to Reconnect With Your Yoga Practice

May 05, 2025

Mother’s Day isn’t just a day for flowers and cards—it’s a powerful reminder of how much moms give, and how rarely they take time to receive.

If you’re a mom, you probably know exactly what I mean. You spend so much time holding everyone else together, you forget to hold space for yourself. That’s where yoga comes in.

This Mother’s Day, I want to invite you to think differently about what self-care looks like. Not the Instagram version—bubble baths and spa days—but the kind that helps you feel strong in your body, clear in your mind, and supported in your life.

Because when you practice yoga consistently, everything shifts. You have more patience. More energy. More of you available to the people you love.

The Best Gift Isn’t in a Box—It’s on Your Mat

Yoga gives you what no scented candle ever could: a way back to yourself. And for moms over 40 (like many of the women I work with), that reconnection is everything. You’re not who you were in your 20s—and thank goodness. But your body, your strength, your time... it’s all changed.

That’s why my online yoga studio exists—to support women who are past the beginner stage but still want to grow. Who want to be challenged in a way that feels smart and sustainable. Who want to feel powerful, not punished.

This Mother’s Day, I challenge you to give yourself the gift you actually need. Not perfection. Not even quiet. But movement, presence, and support.

Because the truth is, you deserve care too. Especially on Mother’s Day.

Not Sure Where to Start?

If your yoga practice has taken a backseat (hello, life), here’s a quick way to reset:

  • Pick one class that makes you feel strong or supported—don’t overthink it.

  • Schedule it like it’s a doctor’s appointment. You wouldn’t cancel on someone else, so don’t cancel on yourself.

  • Tell your family what you’re doing. Let them see you model self-care, not martyrdom.

  • And if you need a little guidance? That’s what I’m here for. Inside my studio, you’ll find classes for building strength, improving flexibility, and mastering those poses you’ve always wanted to understand—no matter how long it’s been since you last rolled out your mat.

The Takeaway

Mother’s Day yoga isn’t about being extra flexible or finding inner peace in one class. It’s about coming home to yourself.

Whether you’re a mom or you’re celebrating one—this is your reminder: you’re allowed to be taken care of, too.

And if you’re ready to take that step, there’s a class waiting for you inside my studio. All you have to do is show up.

Big Hugs,
Tori G.
